Little is known of the mysterious Gelfing people as few have ventured deeper then the Dwarves and lived to tell the tale. They are believed to be relatives of Gnomes due to their Fey nature but that remains conjecture.

Physical Description: They are small creatures with pale almost luminescent skin. Their hair is often pale shades of metallic colors like gold, silver or iron. Their large eyes come in a variety of exotic colors, usually of an almost neon hue. Their nimble hands only have three fingers. Females seem to possess retractable butterfly wings.

Society and relations: The Gelfing people are a slave race, toiling in the bleak darkness for a host of horrors that rule the deepest parts of the world. The gather in tight knit family units based on which pens they are born in and then later kept. These unique clans are highly regimented despite being based on the whims of their masters. So few free Gelfling exist that no real relationships can be generalized for the race. 

Alignment and religion: Despite being born into bondage few embrace the evil ever present in their lives. But the other side of that coin is most bonded Gelfing lean toward Lawfulness even if it is the cruel laws imposed upon them. The few free Gelfings embrace chaos perhaps telling to the nature of species before their enslavement. 

No organized religion exists for the Gelfing people save the worship of the masters of the deep. The race is widely ignorant of any non evil Gods and those that are believe themselves to be abandoned by them.

Racial traits

+2 Dexterity +2 Intelligence -4 Wisdom Gelfings are nimble and intellectually resourceful but their unique fey nature makes it hard for them to focus on the world around them.

Small: Gelflings are Small creatures and gain a +1 size bonus to their AC, a +1 size bonus on attack rolls, a –1 penalty to their Combat Maneuver Bonus and Combat Maneuver Defense, and a +4 size bonus on Stealth checks.

They have Dark Vision up to 60 feet.

Slow: They have a movement of 20 feet. Females have wings which give them a Flight speed of 30 with clumsy maneuverability. It is believed Males also once had wings long ago.

Due to their isolated nature they start only with their own racial language, Due to the high intelligence of the race the often speak additional tongues. Draw from Undercommon, Common, Elven and Dwarven.

All Gelflings start with the feat Psychic Sensitivity.

Dreamspeaker: Members of this race gain a +1 bonus to the saving throw DCs of spells of the divination school and spells that produce sleep effects that they cast. In addition, members of this race with a Charisma score of 15 or higher may use dream once per day as a spell-like ability (caster level is equal to the user's character level).

Cave Dweller: Members of this race gain a +1 bonus on Knowledge (dungeoneering) and Survival checks made underground.
